Overview
This month’s case is an active 32-year-old female, also a physiotherapist, coping with benign hypermobility. She is struggling with multiple areas of dysfunction, particularly around her lumbar spine, left SIJ, hip and knee.
How can we help her prolong her joint health?

After graduating from The Tel-Aviv University, Yaara worked in Neurorehabilitation and respiratory rehabilitation for 3 years, before making the move to Canada. She completed a Clinical Masters in Manual Therapy from the University of Western Ontario in 2010 and has been a FCAMPT since. She has been an instructor with the National Orthopaedic Division (NOD) for 10 years and is passionate about teaching and mentoring. She continued her education in vestibular therapy as well. Yaara developed the physiotherapy program for the Primary Care Network in her area working in GP’s offices and continues to work closely with family physicians. Yaara carries a diverse caseload, but is passionate about Ehler-Danlos Syndrome (EDS) and hypermobility.

After graduating from The University of Manitoba, Lorrie completed a Clinical Masters from the University of Queensland in Australia. Since 1997, she has been an FCAMPT member and has been actively engaged in mentoring, teaching and examining with the National Orthopaedic Division (NOD) and is currently a Lead Examiner. Since 2000 she has taken an active role in teaching and policy making for Gunn Intramuscular Stimulation (CGIMS).
She has published in peer review journals and continues to review for CJSM. She has been Vice and President of CAMPT and was Syllabus Chair for NOD taking on the projects of developing the Orthopaedic Division internet site as well as the initial major revisions to the Orthopaedic Division Syllabus.
Dr. Brent Brookbush, PT DPT, MS, CPT, HMS, IMT

Dr. Brent Brookbush has been an impassioned human movement professional since 1998, and an educator since 2004. He holds a Clinical Doctorate of Physical Therapy from CUNY/Hunter Graduate Center in New York City. He is a Performance Enhancement Specialist, Corrective Exercise Specialist, Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and Certified Orthopedic Manual Therapist through the Maitland Australian Physiotherapy Seminars.
Brent has consulted with organizations such as the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM), SHAPE Magazine, Power Plate, BeachBody, to name a few. He is the founder and CEO of the Brookbush Institute offering 160+ evidence-based, accredited courses, and 3 certifications programs. Dr. Brookbush continues to consult and practice as a physical therapist and personal trainer in New York City.
Stéphane Lamy
Stéphane graduated from McGill University in 1993 with a B.Sc. in Physiotherapy. He then began to work in private practice and with the Laval Titans in the LHJMQ and never gave up combining treating in a clinic and following athletes of all levels. He received his Fellowship degree in Manual Therapy in 2003 and started teaching for the Orthopedic Division) in 2005 as well as in the Masters program of Sherbrooke University.
Wanting to stay involved in sports, he worked with the Montreal Impact as a staff therapist and then Medical team manager from 2009 to 2016. He was also the Physiotherapist of the Canadian Davis Cup team from 2011 to 2018.
